Blogger, is a platform that will host the site for you for free. Much like Word Press, just that Blogger is owned by Google.
Clearly this means that you should not forget about Blogger when you’re thinking about your strategy to increase your blog’s page rank.
Blogger offers this cool feature that allows you to keep track of your backlinks. So if you’re considering creating a blog with this CMS, then you should really follow these tips that I will present to you.
BUT first, let’s take it one step at a time.
What are Blogger backlinks ?
A very simple answer would be:
“blogger backlinks are other blogs that link to your post, or page”.
How do Blogger backlinks work?
Let’s take an example. For instance you will write something on your blog about how to take care of your pets, with details about brushing, washing feeding and so on.
A reader will come to you page, let’s say in this case me, and I will consider your suggestions about taking care of pets very interesting. SO, I had out to my own Blogger blog and I write something about this topic too, BUT I link to the original post, in this case YOUR post.
When that happens, your blog will automatically show that I linked to it, and it will also give a snippet of my text and a link to my post.
Some sort of: “I scratch your back, You scratch my back”. The idea behind it, is to unite sites that are related to eachother, that they talk about the same topic. It makes sense in a way, doesn’t it?
How to use Blogger backlinks?
The default template that Blogger uses already has set up the necessary step for creating blog backlinks. BUT, in case you may want to personalize your blog, and choose a different template, then you should use put this special “blogger code”.
Once you have it set it up, you will see “Links to this post” next to the comment link of each of your blog posts:
If you click it, you will end up on a new page where you will be able to see all the blogger backlinks to that specific post:
If you tried this option, and you think it’s not suited for you, then you can easily turn it off. It’s very simple, all you have to do is go and edit the desired post you want to turn off the backlinks for and choose “no”:
